Cooking Class: Rustic Italian Gnocchi

Discover how to make perfectly light and airy pillows of classic rustic gnocchi in this hands-on class with Chef Mark. After you've mastered the secrets to crafting these Italian dumplings from scratch, Chef Mark will teach you two ways to enjoy your creation: with basil marinara or Genovese basil pesto. Don't forget the freshly shaved Parmesan-Reggiano!


Our cooking classes are designed to be social events that do not require any previous experience. Guests are welcome to purchase wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Mark was great, but I expected to cook more. I would have love to do the full dish by myself. The actual cooking time took 5min the rest was eating and seeing him cook. I am not repeating

Chef Mark was great. I would of given this a lesser rating but I don’t want to show that it was Chef Mark’s fault. The venue was not ideal. It was scheduled on the night of a major concert around the corner and did not allow him to set up as he should have. He was not able to set up til over 30 minutes after the class was scheduled to start. He had to hurry through the set up but once the class started he was knowledgeable and made it enjoyable. Golden Apron chose the location and the venue agreed to it but I do not think there was any consideration or planning done on the front end to avoid the scheduling conflict.

Girls night out with Paella! Mark was super fun, offered not only the knowledge of paella but of any cooking question we posed. Mark made sure to engage all class members and we ended up with a wonderful dinner and conversation. I am confidently armed with knowledge to attempt to make paella for tonight’s dinner. Thank you for such a great night. Cannot wait to do more.

We had a great time Cooking with Chef Mark! We felt welcome and comfortable as soon as we walked in the door and as we began to talk and get to know him, in short time we just felt like we were visiting a friend for dinner. The food was delicious and his presentation about what he prepared, how he prepared it and the tips and tricks he offered about cooking, including hands on instruction, made for an enjoyable AND informative evening. We'll definitely plan to keep an eye out for other opportunities for cooking with Chef Mark.
