No matter the occasion, from a birthday party to an anniversary dinner to a bachelorette celebration, Golden Apron is the place to find and book a unique culinary adventure.


Our cooking classes do not require any prior experience.

Who are Golden Apron’s chefs?

Our chefs have years of culinary experience — from working in high-end eateries to catering events to being private chefs — and a true passion for cooking and teaching others how to cook. Every Golden Apron chef is vetted in person and prepares a meal for us before joining our team. Only chefs who prepare amazing food and are enthusiastic about teaching cooking classes can join our platform as a chef.

Where are Golden Apron experiences held?

Experiences are hosted at premier local venues, including top restaurants, bars and hotels. Venues are all pre-approved and vetted in person to ensure our high standards are met.

What are the group sizes for the experiences?

Each chef sets a minimum number of guests that must join their cooking experience prior to confirming that a class will take place. Each chef also has a maximum number of guests that can be accepted in the class. You can find this information under the “Details” section of each of the chefs’ profiles.


Gift Cards

I would like to give an experience as a gift to someone. Is this possible?

Of course! Simply purchase a Golden Apron gift card and give it to anyone. Benefits include:

  • Golden Apron gift cards never expire.
  • Golden Apron gift cards can be used for any experience nationwide.
  • The recipient can book a seat for an experience of their choosing.

How do I buy a Golden Apron gift card?

  1. Choose the value for your gift card at the top of this page.
  2. Select the delivery method. Gift cards can be emailed to the recipient by choosing "E-Card" or you can print it out by choosing "Self-Printed Card."
  3. Write a personal message for your recipient.
  4. Finally, scroll down and click the gold button, "Purchase Gift Card," then enter your billing information.

Is there a minimum or maximum gift card amount?

The minimum amount is $10. There is no maximum gift card amount!

How does the recipient receive my Golden Apron gift card?

You have two options: print the gift card or email it to the recipient.

Do Golden Apron gift cards expire?

Our gift cards do not expire, and any remaining balance can be used toward another purchase.

How do I redeem a Golden Apron gift card?

Choose a Golden Apron experience by clicking "Book Now" to purchase. Once you have entered your billing information, click the "Gift card or promo code?" gold text and type in the "Gift Card #" indicated on your card.

Why do I have to enter my credit card information when redeeming my gift card?

Golden Apron asks for your billing information in case the amount of the selected experience is more than the amount on your gift card. This allows us to ensure our chefs are compensated if additional guests of yours join your experience, if the experience is made private for a fee exceeding the value of the gift card, etc. The security of your information is our top priority. Golden Apron works with a PCI compliant payment processor, the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

Can gift cards be combined for a single purchase?

Yes! Contact us at 617-819-5179 with the gift card codes you’d like to combine and we’ll provide you with a new code to use toward your purchase.

Is there a date I have to use my gift card by?

No, our gift cards do not expire.

Are Golden Apron gift cards refundable?

Like many other companies, Golden Apron gift cards are not refundable. However, they never expire!

How can I use the remaining balance of my gift card?

Choose a Golden Apron experience by clicking "Book Now" to purchase. Once you have entered your billing information, click the "Gift card or promo code?" gold text and type in the "Gift Card #" indicated on your certificate. Done!

Do you recommend buying an experience or a gift card?

If you’re buying a gift for someone, you’ll want to give a gift card. This option gives the recipient the convenience of selecting any Golden Apron experience at their preferred date and time.

Once you’ve selected your location, you can filter by group size, date, and cuisine options. Refine your search even further by searching for specific cuisine options by clicking on any of the tags in your area.


Special Requests

Can I substitute or change the menu?

Chefs can adapt menus to accommodate most dietary restrictions upon request. When booking your event, we’ll ask you to note any dietary restrictions or special preferences for the chef.

How many people can attend?

Our experiences accommodate a wide variety of group sizes, from small to medium to large. Easily search your area by using the group size filter on our site.

Pricing

What amount covers the cost of a Golden Apron experience?

$100 covers the cost for two guests to enjoy most Golden Apron experiences.

How much do your experiences cost?

The cost varies and is dependent on the area, chef, and cuisine that you choose. The average cost is $50 or less per person.

How is pricing determined?

Our pricing is based on local market value and on a per person basis.

Can you do group pricing?

Our pricing is based on the local market value and on a per person basis. We can tailor events to various group sizes, and rates do not decrease for larger groups. All of our events list a minimum and maximum within the “Details” section.

Are there any additional costs?

There are certain occasions for additional costs; these are determined by the chef.

  • An additional fee may apply when upgrading an event to be held privately.
  • You may choose to tip your chef at the end of an event. This is not expected but always appreciated!

Booking Confirmation

How long will it take for my reservation to be confirmed?

All bookings are instantly confirmed. If a class needs to be rescheduled or canceled for any reason, you will be notified at least 48 hours in advance.

How do I know if my class is confirmed?

Once your request is accepted, the email address on record will receive an email with reservation information. To double check the email address on record, log into your Golden Apron account and click “My Profile,” or click “My Bookings” to check the status of reservations in your account.

What should I do if I have not received any confirmation?

Once you’ve submitted a request online, a notice confirming the reservation request will be sent to the email address on record. To double check the email address on record, log into your Golden Apron account and click “My Profile.” If the email address is correct and you still have not received a notice, check the promotions or spam folders in your email account to locate the confirmation notice.


Changing or Canceling a Reservation

What if I need to cancel?

Things come up at the last minute — we completely understand. You can cancel a booking up to 48 hours before the event without any fees. However, you will be billed for the full amount if you cancel less than 48 hours before a Golden Apron event.

Our chefs spend hours preparing their meals for events, and buy ingredients fresh from the market and specialty stores. This cancellation policy is in place to honor their time and ingredient purchases.

How can I add more guests to my reservation?

Add more guests by logging into your Golden Apron account, clicking “My Bookings,” then the gold “Details” button, followed by “Book More Spots.” Follow the prompts to add more guests to your reservation.

How do I make a change to my reservation?

Golden Apron allows you to update your reservation up to 48 hours before the event is scheduled to start. Contact our Customer Service team for assistance.

What should I do if I have not received any confirmation?

Once you’ve submitted a request online, a notice confirming the reservation request will be sent to the email address on record. How do I leave a review after my event?

Leave a review by logging into your Golden Apron account and clicking “My Bookings.” Then, click the gold “Rate” button and follow the steps to submit your review.
